Shaukat is CEO and Co-Founder of Permuto, Inc. Prior to Permuto, Shaukat founded Rhythm NewMedia, an industry leading startup that pioneered mobile video advertising where he was a member of the Board of Directors and played the role of CTO and Senior Vice President of Business Development.

Prior to Rhythm, Shaukat was a Venture Partner and CTO of NeoCarta Ventures, a $300m early stage venture firm focused on technology investments in internet, media, and wireless.

Before NeoCarta, Shaukat joined Yahoo! as an early employee, where he pioneered the development of the instant messaging platform - Yahoo Messenger - which ultimately boasted one of the world’s largest online communities.

Shaukat was responsible for the architecture, product vision and long-term product roadmap for Yahoo Messenger and played key roles in the industry-wide coordination over IM standards.

Navdeep Saini - CTO & Co-Founder

Navdeep is CTO & co-founder at Permuto, Inc. He has extensive experience in the online advertising and marketing industry.

Prior to Permuto, Navdeep was VP Engineering at Yahoo! where he helped build and deliver Panama, the new Search marketing platform which was the most complex system in Yahoo!’s history. He also managed the existing Search Marketing applications inherited from the Overture acquisition while Panama was being built. At Yahoo!, Navdeep also setup and managed the incubations engineering team for the Mobile advertising platform.

Before Yahoo!, Navdeep was VP Engineering at DoubleClick where he spent almost 8 years building and scaling DART which is DoubleClick’s hosted ad delivery and management platform serving billions of ads every day. He also managed DART Enterprise, an enterprise ad management and delivery software. Navdeep helped initiate offshore development for DoubleClick and managed the offshore development teams for a variety of products and businesses in DoubleClick.

Earlier, Navdeep held a variety of software development and management roles at different corporations in USA and India. He spent about 4 years at Med-link which was a clearing house and built solutions for healthcare EDI transactions. Med-link went through several acquisitions and eventually became a part of Emdeon.

Navdeep has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from the University of Bombay (Mumbai), India

Stanley Wong - VP Product Marketing & Co-Founder

Stanley was Yahoo’s 41st employee where he held roles in establishing sales operations, sales programs, product marketing, and business management while primarily contributing to Yahoo!’s growth in Internet Advertising. During his nearly 8 year tenure at Yahoo!, Stanley’s leadership was instrumental in establishing Yahoo!’s advertising operations, e-mail direct marketing, rich media, data mining, and online ad serving efforts. While representing Yahoo!, Stanley has also contributed to Internet wide advertising standards with the Internet Advertising Bureau.

Prior to Yahoo!, Stanley worked at Apple Computer, Inc. for 3.5 years where he worked in the Apple Online Services division during which he held roles in Software Quality, Operations, and Product Management. While at Apple, Stanley worked on products such as Applelink, AppleLink CD, eWorld, and the Apple Newton (NewtonMail service).

Stanley left Yahoo! in November 2003 to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities in Internet consumer marketing. After Yahoo!, he held roles as Vice President of Products for BetterPPC.com, which delivered the first adcopy optimization platform for Search Engine Marketing, and Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Search Physics, a startup focusing on developing the next generation search engine technology platform.

Rajat Shroff - SVP Product Management

Prior to Permuto, Rajat headed up product management at Rhythm NewMedia, an industry leading startup that pioneered mobile advertising. Rhythm powered mobile advertising services for the top operators and media companies across US and Europe.

Before Rhythm, Rajat held several management positions at Oracle. He was an early member of the application server team where he led the portal and content mangement and publishing products. Rajat also pioneered Oracle & Y's initial foray into software as a service with a hosted portal service. The service hosted over 30,000 companies. Rajat has spoken at several industry conferences on content and media publishing.

Rajat graduated with high honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelors in Computer Science.

John Kelly - VP Business Development

Before coming to Permuto, John was Senior Director of Business Development at Yahoo! While at Yahoo!, John led the business development team for Yahoo! Shopping, where he was instrumental in securing double-digit annual revenue growth and the launch of Yahoo! Deals. Prior, he was a member of the Global Strategic Partnerships group, where he secured strategic partnership deals with Sony and Samsung.

Before joining Yahoo!, John led strategic development and telco relations at PaymentOne. Before that, John was Director of Business Affairs at America Online, where he put together AOL’s largest CD distribution deal in Europe, $50MM data licensing deal, and a $75MM payments deal. Before AOL, John was an attorney with the international law firm Coudert Brothers.

John has a BA from Brown University and a JD from Georgetown University Law School. He is also a Fulbright Scholar.

Doug Koen - VP Engineering

Douglas Koen

Vice President of Engineering

As a Lead Architect at Yahoo!, Doug was responsible for Yahoo's first mobile search advertising platform. He also contributed to the development of Yahoo's new Panama search marketing platform and helped enhance the legacy search marketing system inherited from Yahooo's Overture acquisition.

Doug also contributed to the architecture, construction, and delivery of Fidelity Investments' pioneering Spider Decision Support System, which provided a unique way for Fidelity's non-technical analysts to visualize their requests to Fidelity's data warehouse and analyze the results of those queries.

A startup veteran, Doug led the development of an automated insurance claims adjudication engine at deNovis, architected and led the development of a visualization toolkit and business workflow automation system at Ripple Systems, contributed to the development of a natural language interface for electronic commerce at iPhrase Technologies, and contributed to the development of a system for multiple users to edit a document simultaneously with different visualizations at Archetype, Inc.

Doug holds a Master's degree in Media Technology (at the Media Laboratory) and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he specialized in personalized systems for electronic news.

Doug holds thirteen patents related to mobile sponsored search and is the author of multiple papers on personalized news.

Deanne Swartz - Dir Sales

Director of Sales

Deanne most recently the Vice President of Sales for AdGent 007 where she was responsible for establishing the U.S. sales operation. She was instrumental in building the company’s sales team and led sales strategy, programs, and sales.

Prior to AdGent 007, Deanne held several senior sales and business development positions at Aptimus, NexTag, Trip.com, and CitySearch/Ticketmaster, an IAC company. She has consistently been a top performer and has excellent experience starting companies from the ground up.
